Arguments are so stupid…

That’s one thing I am totally horrible at. Actual conversation writing scares the crap out of me, but now that Rachel’s given me a few pointers, it’s getting better. Why do we fight so much? It’s pointless. I guess we wouldn’t have a plot if there was no conflict, but still! I hate it! All the psychological non-print things that go on in fights could have it’s own fight, but it’s so hard to convey that into words. Just plain conversation is hard enough!

Ashley and Patrick’s first fight’s rough draft is done, but it’s got a lot of edging to be done, as does the entire rest of it all. I’m not looking forward to it.

Different people act differently in situations, it wouldn’t be near as detailed and exciting if we all just fumed and walked away. Patrick is a guy that doesn’t do this; he means what he says all the time (hence my new Patrick-isms) and doesn’t necessarily wants to say it all the time. He tries to hold back, but sometimes he forgets to think, and that can hurt people. Ashley on the other hand doesn’t always mean what she says, and she tries to end the argument as quickly as possible by doing so. The more hurtful the comment, the more time she has to think of her apology. Ashley doesn’t deal with serious situation easily, but that slowly gets easier because of Patrick.

Now all I’ve gotta do is actually work on it. Great…

Character Bios

I’ve been having some problems finding a good title, so maybe if I think about what each character stands for, I might come up with something. So I present you with my Character Bios!

Ashley Marie Price:

Sweet and lighthearted when you first meet her, but when you get to know her, you find out Ashley has a very good head on her shoulders. She knows what she wants in life, and she knows how she plans on getting it. Loves to have fun, but doesn’t always know when to stop. Doesn’t always think before she speaks.
Ashley’s parents divorced when she was young, but are very good friends and own a business together. Her father is an alcoholic and verbally abuses Ashley daily. When her father drives her out of the house, Ashley turns to her mother. As a result of her parent’s divorce early on in her life, Ashley’s mother doesn’t think of Ashley as a daughter, and more as a bum and a freeloader.
Because of her parents, Ashley spends a lot of time down by the South Carolina beaches. She thinks of the ocean as a friend, and this is where she does a lot of her thinking.
Tall, slender, blue eyes, long wavy blonde hair, sixteen.

Patrick James:

Very self-conservative and shy. Patrick isn’t very keen on making friends, and is very hard on himself. His looks and expression classifies him as intimidating to others.
Patrick’s mother died after giving birth to his little brother. After his father got over his denial, he began beating Patrick and his brother for every little thing they did wrong. Putting the blame on his little brother, Patrick didn’t have a very happy childhood. Patrick’s brother sunk out a lot, and when this happened, Patrick got beat twice as hard. This made him hate his father, and everything he stood for. Patrick’s father was a butcher, which drove him to loving animals, and eventually becoming a vegetarian. After night after night refusing to eat what was given to him, Patrick got fed up with his life and ran away.
After years on the road and living off the land, Patrick retired to a college in Australia. Two years before, he met Ashley on the beach in South Carolina, where he stayed for a year to finish high school. They became attached to each other, and when Patrick announced he was leaving, he offered to Ashley that she come with him. She refused, and Patrick promised to keep in touch. They have been phone-buddies for two years, and Patrick has never really gotten over how much he loved her.
Average height, muscular build, dark brown eyes, spiky brown hair, eighteen.

Yay! So I don’t really have much to say at the moment, but I want to have a starting post. This is basically a public notebook for myself to keep track of my progress in my book. Yes, I’m writing a book, big whoop.

Yaay. Kudos for Taylor. Oh! And it’s over a page long, unlike my others! I’m so proud!

So wish me luck on this journey, I’m sure I’ll need it.
